Deployed Pets As the United States prepares for the possibility of war in the middle east and military are being deployed, four legged (and winged) family are left behind...animal shelters at and near the San Diego military base, Camp Pendleton, are filling with the companion animals of service men and women.
...Smock is hoping Friends of Animals can help prevent military members from ditching dogs and cats prior to a move, find veterinarian care for the animals and connect them with someone looking for a pet.
Of course, there's still a long way to go and deployment is very different from normal military transfers. Perhaps you can serve your country by agreeing to foster the companion animal of a military member being shipped off.
