Thanks for joining me Over Coffee
A writer by passion and profession, I've been writing since I was old enough to know how, so establishing a weblog
seemed a natural progression. By adding a blog to my site, I can speak about my passions and life, share my writing, art
and photos, and comment on current events.

On Valentine’s Day don’t just give your heart...
Give your Blood and Give Life... In case you haven’t read the news, the American Red Cross has had some trouble of late with potentially contaminated blood resulting in a large quarantine of the blood supply to the Tennessee Valley Region (ARC PR 02.03.03 and Atlanta-Constitution). In addition to this quarantine, the fact is that winter months are typically slow donor months which can cause blood supplies to dwindle (ARC PR 01.16.03).
So here’s my idea – between now and Valentine’s Day (or ON Valentine’s Day) find a local blood drive and give a little of yourself. Here’s list of DC Metro Donor Centers (I couldn’t forget our neighbors to the north…Baltimore)and the local upcoming blood drives (scroll to find the upcoming dates).
Of course, you can donate AFTER Valentine’s Day too, but we have to have a goal and this seems like a natural connection.
Now, if you’re reading this blog outside the DC metro area, visit this page of the Red Cross website and enter your zip code to find local sites, centers and blood drives! Or, Call 1-800-GIVE LIFE (800-448-3543).
Bloody Bloggers How about you help spread the word?
Leave me a comment (or drop me an email) letting me know you’re participating and promoting the idea, and I’ll gleefully list your blog/website here!
