UPDATE: Earlier this month I encouraged people to donate blood for Valentine's Day due to usual and unusual shortages being experienced by the American Red Cross.
Our local blood donation center was booked, so we made an appointment for February 17th (today)...otherwise known as the snowiest-snowday in Washington DC in at least 7 years. We couldn't the car out of the lot or get through to ARC to reschedule our appointments, but I will keep trying. In the meantime, I read this story about how snowstorms have closed blood drives all weekend making the need for blood even more dire and urgent. So I'd like to reissue the challenge to readers and bloggers out there to donate blood this month.
UPDATE: Rescheduled our appointments for this coming Saturday. Who wants to join us (in spirit)? Just call 1-800-GIVE LIFE (800-448-3543) for local donation information.
