Cat Day at Shea Stadium...a Hit with Fick! Or should I say Kitten?
Somewhere between batting practice and their victory over the Mets (5-3), Brave's first baseman Robert Fick became a feline's father. Fick learned that a young, gray kitten found in a tangle of wires in the camera bay by the Brave's bench had no home and quickly offered his own!
"I've just got a soft spot for animals," Fick said. While the Brave's head for Chicago, Fick's wife will head home with their new furbaby named Shea.
