One Ring to Rule Them All According to this story on NBC4.com, the Salvation Army faces a quandry:
Gold Ring Slipped Into Salvation Army Kettle POSTED: 6:19 p.m. EST December 9, 2003
CARLISLE, Pa. -- Bell ringers [not to be confused with ring bearers] across the Susquehanna Valley collect money for the Salvation Army, but one volunteer in Cumberland County found something other than change in the kettle.
A gold ring attached to a note was slipped into one of the kettles in Carlisle.
The note says, "Give this to someone who can use it. God bless."
The Salvation Army's advisory board [pictured here] will decide how to handle this donation.
