Thanks for joining me Over Coffee
A writer by passion and profession, I've been writing since I was old enough to know how, so establishing a weblog
seemed a natural progression. By adding a blog to my site, I can speak about my passions and life, share my writing, art
and photos, and comment on current events.
EDITOR: I spent the early evening of last Saturday helping midwife a young deer out of this life. She had been hit by a car (whose driver left her there, in the road) and her body was giving up on her. Still, she did not die easy. She was full of life. She was on her way somewhere and probably ran out of the trees that line that part of Watertrough.
I was not alone with her: the woman who stopped first, another woman with her two children who called the county for help, a neighbor with first aid training, a friend and her mother who also called for help and the many people who stopped to ask: Need help? Yet she, the young doe, was the focus of our attention and hopes.
Please, everyone, drive with care and compassion for those whose ancient pathways have been taken by us and whose voices we seemingly cannot hear.
I wish to add that confining animals, whether mink, fowl, calves, fish or rabbits until they are removed for slaughter is a forthright example of might making right. To take pride in doing this is disturbing, especially when, for most individuals, a vegan diet has been shown to be an excellent and healthful way to live with compassion for all life.

Deer-vehicle collisions are most prevalent during the holiday (and hunting) season - fall and early winter. There are several reasons including, but not limited to: fewer daylight hours, mating season, animal migration and frightened deer running into traffic.
Hundreds of thousands of animals and a few thousand people die annually as a result of animal-vehicle crashes. Take a few minutes to learn what you can do to avoid them by visiting: Fund for Animals Online Library, or the Insurance Information Institute.
Young or unexperienced drivers face an even greater risk of causing fatal motor vehicle crashes. In fact, 16-year-old drivers are 12-times more likely to die in a car crash. And, of course, driving while intoxicated, at any age, heightens all risks of being involved in a collision -- so don't take changes with your or others lives.
