Don't Back the Cruelty This horse racing film is by Animal Aid, an advocacy group in the UK who campaign against the Grand National.
According to the Animal Aid website, more than 300 horses are "raced to death in the UK" each year.
Most people regard horse racing as a harmless sport in which the animals are willing participants who thoroughly enjoy the thrill. 'Don't back the cruelty' shows a series of real on-course equine deaths. Please watch the video and then follow the links to find out how you can help.
The 90-second film demonstrates why Animal Aid is designating April 2-9, 2005, the leading up to the Grand National, as "Horse Racing Awareness Week" in the UK.
