The Eagle has Landed is Spectacular In case you missed it...on April 25th, NASA celebrated the 15th anniversary of the Hubble telescope launch. Is that possible?! Seems like only yesterday... we were making jokes about the mirror woes.
To celebrate Hubble's anniversary, "scientists used the ACS to record a new region of the eerie-looking Eagle Nebula." It is "one of the two largest and sharpest images Hubble Space Telescope has ever taken," according to NASA.
Hubble has taken some 700,000 photos since its launch -- a few of which I've posted here in the past. NASA can say that it is just (a tower of dense) gas, but I like think the nebula is smiling for its picture. It is beautiful and awe-inpsiring imagine. I hope you agree.
