A Real Good Man Forget the "real bad boy" in the lyrics, Tim McGraw is just a "real good man" and apparently a dream husband according to readers of Redbook magazine. While I'm not a regular reader, I did pick up the June issue (on newstands now) for the interview. McGraw, who is married to country music artist Faith Hill, ranked number one among "Hot Hollywood (he's starred in Friday Night Lights and is now filming My Friend Flicka) Husbands," according to a Redbook.com reader poll. In the six-page article, this father of three talks on a variety of subjects, including his shyness, putting family first and the importance of "giving something back."
Something that's important to me right now is that State Farm Insurance and the American Red Cross are teaming up for a national blood drive. You know, people can give blood up to six times a year, but only 5 percent of eligible people actually do it. It's easy. I do it all the time. So I want to encourage people to donate. It take an hour. You get a T-shirt, orange juice and a cookie. Really, you end up getting more than you put into it. Life is not a free ride. Serving the public is part of the obligation of being on this planet. Even if you don't believe in God, you still owe something to humanity."
I couldn't have said it better myself! For the record (catch that pun?), I'm not a huge fan of most popular country music, but a girl's got to make allowances, right?
Be sure to visit the blood donation campaign McGraw is championing, Neighbors Give Life for a cool sweepstakes with chances to win cool McGraw-related prizes.
