A Hush in the Hundred Acre Wood Paul Winchell, 82, TV host and film voice of Winnie the Pooh's Tigger has passed away on Friday, according to The New York Times.
E! Online brings more sad news...a day after Tigger's voice artist passed away, John Fiedler, 80, veteran stage and screen actor AND the voice of Piglet also passed away.
I have always loved Winnie the Pooh. Growing up, I loved the books, the specials, the television show and the records. I had records albums and read-along record-books. (Anyone remember those?) And, I still know the songs. I'd spend hours listening to them over and over again -- before the days of watching video tapes repeatedly.
My love for the tales of Christopher Robin haven't waned over the years either. Several years ago, we bought a set of the original A.A. Milne books and the series of stuff animals based on the original illustrations. Just recently my husband bought me "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" on DVD. In fact, while watching one of the adventures, I dozed off. It was a wonderful peaceful sleep, too...just like when I was a kid.
