Attention Fremont, Ohio: This Kitty Needs YOU!
I receive a lot of emails like the one I am posting below. While I can't post them all, this message and story just breaks my heart so I'm posting this one. I am hoping that someone back in my home state of Ohio living in or around the Fremont can help Lucinda. There is no legitimate reason, and this is no way, for her little life to end just because of a few special needs.
I [Barbara] am trying one more time to get a response for this poor kitty. Otherwise, she will be euthanized, and soon. This is very serious, please do not hesitate if you feel moved to help this poor girl. If you wait, it may be too late.
FREMONT, OHIO - please cross post - We [SPA] were contacted about this special needs female tiger cat, Lucinda, who has epilepsy and an ear infection. She also seems to be blind.
The people who have her really are not that fond of animals, and have busy work schedules, they said. We paid for them to take their cat to our vets after they said they wanted us to take her or they were going to have her euthanized. We currently are fostering way too many cats and dogs to take on this girl, so I am hoping their is one VERY SPECIAL PERSON OUT THERE who has a strong nursing instinct to see what they can do for Lucinda. This family said they don't have time to give her the attention she needs.
Well I visited Lucinda, and she is beautiful. It is obvious she is in severe pain from an ear infection, and if a special someone is willing to care for her and give her the extra special one on one she requires, SPA will pay for her to receive a Demerol shot for pain, ear cleaning and ear medication, Phenobarbital pills for her epilepsy, antibiotics and anything else she might need.
I gently petted her and she was fine, but it is difficult to judge just how friendly she could become as she is in such pain with her ear infection. She does have seizures, and this family said they quit giving her the Phenobarbital as it made her throw up on occasion.
SO...With a hope and a prayer, I am hoping that by the Grace of a loving, compassionate Creator, that SOMEONE VERY SPECIAL will make it their mission to give this girl a chance with special nursing and lots of TLC.
