FAIRFAX CO, VA: Keep pets safe from disaster
Hurricanes Katrina and Rita taught the country many lessons in preparing and responding to natural disasters (lessons we've had to learn over again in some areas). Here's one we shouldn't miss:
The Fairfax County Office of the American Red Cross of the National Capital Area is sponsoring a seminar on how to prepare pets for disaster on Tuesday, May 23, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Sully Government Center.
Guest speakers will talk about how to make a pet preparedness kit, evacuating with a pet and pet first aid. The workshop is free and open to the public, but pets are not allowed and an RSVP is requested. For more information or to register, call 703-805-2332.
